Fiber Arts

Painting using dyes on silk is an excellent medium for capturing the colors, patterns and iridescence of flowers. Felting is a medium that has an extraordinary tactile quality, and it allows for spontaneity or careful planning. Using natural materials such as leaves, berries, roots and bark, to create colors and patterns on cloth is so satisfying as it uses the materials around us (and a little chemistry) to create beautiful cloth! All these mediums connect me with generations of artists and the work of their hands.
