Learning More!

In the past weeks I have taken two excellent classes in Mendocino.

The first was FUSING FELT THROUGH PRE-CONSTRUCTED FABRICS  with instructor Lisa Klakulak. To see her fascinating work, visit strongfelt.com.

The second was DYECOLOUR™ PAINTING ON SILK taught by my mentor and friend, Susan Louise Moyer, moyerdesign.com.

Prior to the class, Susan and I collaborated on a painting using her DyeColour™ technique and Lian Zhen's fine book, "Chinese Painting Techniques for Exquisite Watercolors." We wanted to see how well the dye on treated silk could work with very wet painting tehniques. As it turned out, it worked beautifully. Here are two of the in-progress pictures of the painting. I still have a little more work to do to complete it.

Come join Keith and me on Art Walk Night. The Art Walks are always fun with plenty of art, food and music to keep everyone happy. I will be dividing my time between the Auburn Old Town Gallery, 218 Washington Street, where Keith and I are featured artists, and my OLAS studio, 175 Almond Street, Auburn. In addition to the art, there will be a Story Teller at OLAS.
